If you’re living out of your RV or into Rving, you’ve likely encountered ants at some point of time or another. You’re not alone. Ants seem to enjoy traveling just about as much as we humans do.
These steps will help you to get rid of the pesky critters in your RV. Start by cleaning the RV top to bottom. Use your vacuum and clean every nook and cranny.
Pay close attention to counters and areas where food may be left behind. Don’t forget underneath of the table where Junior may have left a few crumbs or by Juniors favorite chair.
After cleaning the RV thoroughly, it’s time to take further action. Start by ensuring that all of the foods are sealed up well. Repackage anything that is open and in a plastic package so that it’s airtight.
Ants are looking for food and will accept just about any crumb that they encounter as a food source. Wipe everything down with Pine Sol. For some reason, the ants hate the scent.
Other methods are to use a mix of one part sugar to two parts of borax and sprinkle this outside of your RV.
The sugar will attract the critters and the borax will be taken back to their ant hill where it will kill the entire colony. Borax is a common ingredient in many ant killing products.
Finally, keep all of the dirty dishes in a rubber type container. If you don’t have time to wash them before you move on, put a lid on it and ensure that it is securely closed. This will help to reduce any food particles that may attract ants.
Be sure to refresh the Pine Sol often (get it in a spray and spray it on counters and other areas where ants frequent.
